Chapter 5 Evaluation Framework
Using the above discussed attributes, we come up with a simple framework to evaluate visualizations. The criterias covered are as follows:
- Suitable type of visualization used for the topic
- Use of colors to draw attention
- Use of colors/shapes/patterns to differentiate between elements
- Labeled axis, with clear units
- Title to indicate the topic
- Proper use of white space between elements
- Contains dataset covers duration sufficient to justify change in pattern
- Movement/Animation to draw attention
- Describes the topic discussed
- Integrity of data
- Presents insights/prediction on data
- Clearness (quality) of visualization
